Selling item to Brazil is difficult. Even you sent via tracking post. The buyer usually end up complaint item never received.

Even the postage include returned service, you always ended up item status is unknown.

Anyone has bad experience in selling items to Brazil?

Would suggest to block this country from ordering. So far orders from this country has never been smooth.

In my experience the item got there quickly enough but was detained in Customs for about three months. Luckily my customer knew this was normal.

Thanks for reply.

Not sure if eBay know about this situation.

3 months is kind of slow, hopefully buyer would not take this as advantage and file a claim.

All you can do is keep an eye on that tracking status and encourage your buyer to do so as well. Let them know that it can get "stuck" in their particular country's system, but be gentle about it. In the end, the customer is due their item in due time. Ebay doesn't take accountability for anything, it's up to the seller to decide if they want to do international business.

Brazil like many countries does not allow used consumer goods to be imported through the mail to individuals.   The GSP weeds out and prevents these types of sales.  If you choose to ship internationally without using the Global Shipping Program you must know international shipping regulations before you ship or risk forfeiture of the item.

Some countries are trying to protect their own economies but some do it for health and safety concerns.

Is this the same item from June? Oh my... I would just let the customer know that you are aware that the pandemic has hit their country hard and things (Customs) are likely to be delayed even longer than normal, but you are watching it and you are confident that they will eventually get it. Be kind and let them know you are concerned (so maybe they won't be so quick to open a case). It's not your fault, but the customer paid and at SOME point they should get their item or a refund.

Ebay has been granting a little leeway for the shipping delays, but I'm not sure for how long or for sellers in your country. But I'm sure by this point it's too late to do anything except refund them if they force it. When was the estimated delivery date?

I have also been having delivery problems to Chile.  I used eBay Standard International delivery and all the tracking shows that the items have stopped in Chile and have not moved.  I have had 1 case so far and eBay has left it open for 2 weeks now with funds on hold but I bet they are doing nothing about it.  Hopefully this will get resolved soon.

Don't bother with S America, unless of course you want to lose your items, most Customs in this region are extremely slow even with tracked delivery and many of the " buyers " know this, opening INR is common and you will be refunding.

Very little chance of the package being received within E Bay's determined timeframe, even if it then gets delivered you can only ask for re payment, E Bay will not reimburse you.

A good knowledge of countries to avoid is paramount, even with tracking some countries are not worth the hassle.

I had one package to Brazil, delivered rather quickly. Don't forget that Brazil is one of the few countries that specifically requires the label to show the postage. If it does not it may cause long delays or the package being returned. Also,  an invoice must be included in the package.

Good advice. Has started to set my selling item to exclude this country. Is just too risky.

I gave up on South America, too many hassles with delivery.

I did mail a few packages to Colombia and the packages made it, after they got zig zagged

all over the country. I had no problems with Chile.

As for the rest... forget it.

Yes, I have started to change and block those buyer from this region. Too much troubles. Not really sure if this is custom issue or buyer making use of custom delay and dispute/claim item not received.

Postal from my country suppose to have package returned paid for if item is not delivered. But it never happen. Ebay do nothing about it as it is always to advantage if buyer claim item not received.
