I have several cases of collectible matches I would like to sell. Some are in little boxes shaped like spark plugs and others are the more traditional match book styles. They wouldn't be of much value if the matches were removed or altered. I also have a case of auto road flares that come packed with a matchbook. I read the USPS policy https://www.usps.com/ship/shipping-restrictions.htm and it states that "Safety Matches" may be shipped, but by ground only. When I ship things even by 1st Class it usually goes on an airplane somewhere. How do I specify ground only? The USPS rules further state that "Strike Anywhere" matches are prohibited. But when I search ebay listings I find lots of sellers advertising "strike anywhere" matches and offering standard or priority mail shipping. How do they do it?

"Ground" service refers to USPS Parcel Select. The minimum charge for up to 1 lb. is about $6.00. The package has to be marked as hazmat. So you do not want to bother selling boxes of matches or matchbooks except in person."
I was not aware of this law/restrickion with matches and matchbooks.. I have purchased matches and done so with priority mail and had no Idea.
