Shipping questions

Hi, I've never posted here before so I hope I'm in the right spot.🙂

I am about to list a karaoke singing machine and I noticed that media mail is an option for shipping- does this automatically mean that my item qualifies as media mail? I just read about Ebay not letting someone print a shipping label after an item has sold because it actually did not qualify for it, and I obviously want to avoid this.

Aside from media mail, what is the cheapest option for shipping? My package is going to be a little over 6 lbs and USPS priority mail is estimating the shipping at over $23.00! I know ground shipping can be a cheaper option but it takes longer. I'm a newbie just looking for some expertise.

Thanks in advance,

Sara

Re: Shipping questions

Like nobody*s_perfect said if it is over 1 cubic foot (the package not just the item)it will have dimensional weight. And don't try to skimp on the packaging to save a few bucks on shipping if it arrives damaged then you lose the item and the cash.

Before listing pre pack it then go to www.paypal.com/shipnow put in a made up address in zone 8 I see you are in Michigan so use LA. Its what I use here in Ohio, just google an address for a post office in 90210. Put in your weight and dimensions and it will give you postage for each class of mail.

Re: Shipping questions

Your item is not eligible for Media Mail postage.

Packages that are over 1 cubic foot (1728 cubic inches) will be charged according to their "dimensional weight" rather than their actual scale weight.  Ground shipping wouldn't save you much, so you should stick to Priority Mail.
