I have recently had a counteroffer accepted on eBay for an item. The buyer wants me to include another item and ship them both to the same address. Can I ship them in the same box with the eBay discount label, or will I need to ship them separately (the second, non-eBay item being considered a non-eBay sale and thus not subject to any eBay terms and conditions)?

I would be wary of adding anything or even considering adding anything to an offer.
What are you being asked to include that wasn’t in the listing? What was the listing for?
Why can’t you just make a listing for this extra item?
Remember, this account is only a few days old. You would be better to stick to the listing and not add anything.
I need more details.

My original listing was for a computer. The buyer wishes to include a $500 gift card in the package. The offer has already been accepted, which means I am legally obligated to sell the item. I am concerned that if I do not give the buyer what they want, I will not be able to sell the item and thus will face consequences.
I can not make a listing for this extra item because I do not own it. The buyer wishes to reimburse me for the extra cost. I too do not want to add anything besides my original listing, but the buyer seems intent on having me do so.

it's a scam.
you will never be paid.
fake payment notice will be sent
wait 4 days, and then cancel as "buyer did not pay".

You are being scammed.
Do not proceed.
Do not buy a gift card.
Do not list anything online that you can’t afford to lose.

Do not do it. Nobody is taking you to court if you cancel the order. Do not do it. It is a known scam. Do not do it.

Major, big time scam -- don't fall for it!
The "buyer" will keep both the computer plus the $500 gift card -- and leave you with a big fat ZERO.
The scammers are always looking for "newbies" trying to sell electronic goods, and always seem to also want the suckers to add a gift card to the shipment. And, once you ship off the electronics item plus the gift card, your payment disappears from your account -- and you're left holding a very empty bag.
Good thing you came to the eBay community boards to ask -- many other new sellers have not done so, and are very sorry they didn't.
Also a lot poorer.

The first thing I thought of when I read your first post was, “is that non-eBay item you speak of a gift card?”
LOL, I hit it right on the nail. Scammy scam scam. The buyer will 100% NOT PAY YOU. They will create some sort of fake email making it LOOK like they paid you. But if you log into your eBay it will never tell you the item is ready to ship, because it is still pending payment.
Since you already accepted the offer, the buyer has I think 4 days to pay. Once they don’t pay (I guarantee it) and the 4 days pass eBay will cancel the transaction for you and penalize the buyer, not you.
Be sure to block the buyer. Search in these forums how to do that if you don’t know how yet. Welcome to eBay, someone just tried to scam you. It’s a rite of passage that every seller goes through. Oh and I would stop all communication with that buyer, you don’t need to exchange any words with them anymore.

SCAM. DO not ship the computer either. If they truly paid, most likely it's a stolen credit card. Or they are going to say that you shipped a rock. Cancel with problem with buyer's address.
Never send a gift card for someone else. If they want a gift card, they can buy their own gift card.
You are new to ebay. Why don't you learn how to do ebay with cheap items? Learn first and then sell pricier items.

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you give the buyer your email address or phone number? If so, any "payment" email you receive is FAKE.
Here are some red flags to watch out for.
1. Buyer asks for your email address, Paypal address or other personal/banking information
2. Buyer sends you a phone number to text/call him/her
3. Buyer asks you to buy gift cards to go with the order
4. Buyer asks you to send the item to a different address after paying
5. Buyer wants you to send the item overnight/express and will pay you a lot extra to do this
6. Buyers says that they cannot pay through the eBay website and sends you a link to click on so that the payment will go through
7. Buyer offers more for your item than the price you have it listed for
If ANY of the above happen, do not contact the buyer or respond to any messages from them. Block them here: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock This will prevent them from buying from you.
If they actually purchased, after four full days do an unpaid item cancellation. You can do that here: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/cancelling-transaction?id=4136 Once you do that you can relist. The non-payment cancel option will appear after 96 hours + one minute after the sale exactly.
Also, if they purchased by buy it now, if you accepted an offer or if they won an auction, report the buyer: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/reporting-issue-buyer?id=4084 Use the reason "asking to complete a sale off eBay".
