Shipping multiple items

When someone buys multiple items and I go to print label, there is just one label. And when I plug in the new dimensions, making the package larger, shipping is thru the roof.

Example: I had 3 cardboard tubes, customer wanted 2 of them. I had the weight as 4lbs ea. and the dims 5x5x54. when I went to print label, the weight was automatically changed to 8lbs so I thought I would have to tape/wrap the tubes together. So I changed the dims to 5x10x54 and shipping was more than what I sold for with the original shipping.

How do I make it so the customer pays for each items shipping and a different label is created for each package? Or any suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

Shipping multiple items

I will try, but others likely have a better handle on your particular situation. The combined dimension on your 'new' package is over the dimensions allowed for USPS priority 'standard' measurements of one cubic foot, or 12x12x12". The combined package then goes into 'dimensional' rates, and those rates are much higher. You have a choice, and you can ship combined and pay the higher rate, or you can ship separately in some cases, depending on how you set up the original listing, and payment options. What works best for you, depends on what you are selling, where you are shipping to, the weight and size of the individual package (both combined and individual package), and other factors. When you use, UPS and FedEx, then the rules again change, so the answer to your question depends on many factors. Large packages like yours are going to pose a problem due to the length, so expect them to be expensive on USPS.
