Shipping label service is only printing Flat Rate Envelope labels

Hi, this is a weird thing- ,my last 3 shipping labels were Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope labels, even though I had Parcel Select or Priority Mail options only, in the ads.  Two of the packages were for 5 to 8 pounds- not what the Flat Rate Envelope ($7.75) will cover.  What is wrong?  Are other people having this problem?

Shipping label service is only printing Flat Rate Envelope labels

Many sellers are no longer offered "Parcel Select" when printing labels.

It then often defaults to "Pri Flat Rate"

Ignore that and choose another shipping option.

You can print Parcel Select at PP, Pirateship, stamps dot com.

For some items Priority rate are close to Parcel Select prices. Priority includes insurance up to $50 ($100 for some sellers)

eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc. Even at USPS Click N Ship!

When it's not offered, the shipping label page usually defaults to the first option on the list which is flat rate envelope. You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at

www.PayPal.com/shipnow

Hi, Thanks.  When I wrote the ad, I did have the option for Parcel Post, which I included as an option in the ad. So I guess the ad pre-dates the update.  Thank you.

Alas, no, though that's a logical assumption.  eBay has been phasing out Parcel Select Ground for over a year, with no announcement or alert for sellers who choose it.

Well, not really.

eBay dropped the Parcel Select  for some labels many, many, many months ago, but still shows it as a choice when listing.

Some seller can still use Parcel Select to ship. It has been posted that it is still an option for TR sellers.

eBay allows sellers to offer a wide range of shipping services through their listings, but they don't offer every one of those services through their label purchase page @waterlilly678.

A few examples include:

  • Retail Ground (a retail service available exclusively at USPS retail locations)
  • Parcel Select (currently available through eBay labels only to Top Rated Sellers, but can be purchased through any other online shipping provider that offers USPS)
  • Media Mail (can only be purchased through eBay for select categories due to how much the service is abused. An item might qualify for MM even though eBay labels doesn't offer it for that category, but you can purchase it through any other online shipping provider that offers USPS or at the retail counter)
  • Letter/Flat service (it's an untracked USPS service which is the likely reason eBay doesn't offer it through their label platform)
