Shipping delays, what's happening?

I'm starting another thread on this, because what is happening doesn't make sense.

There is something major going on, can't find out what it is yet.  Do not think this is a weather issue. I sent s package to Ga on the 17th, showed in transit to Ga. On the 22nd it showed back at my local sort facility.  On the 24th, in transit again to Ga.  It showed  it arrived in AL this morning, now tonight it's in TN. My customer is not happy and wants a refund.  Some people don't know enough about shipping and think this could be the sellers fault.  I have several packages going to different parts of the country that were shipped on 13th, 16th,17th, they all showed in transit to their destinations, now they show arriving in Tampa,FL.  6 Days after I shipped, they are showing up in the same state.  I tried calling the USPS  800# today, hold time was too long.

Called USPS again this morning, and the hold time is 1hr 40 min - 1hr 50 min. Some packages I shipped on the 17th show no update since the 20th.  The rest have been in transit for 8 days, now showing Tampa, FL.  I have packages in transit to HI,CA,CT,TX,NY,MI,GA,MN. Customers are starting to ask for refunds.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

Skip the 1-800-ASK-USPS nonsense and call your local USPS CONSUMER AFFAIRS office. I call my closest CONSUMER AFFAIRS office in Phoenix AZ @ (602) 683-4276 on a regular basis these days:( They answer the phone almost immediately and can do everything that the idiots at 1-800-ASK-USPS do without the 1+ hour hold time. Everybody that's having long delivery times and lost packages should be looking up your local CONSUMER AFFAIRS office and calling the heck out of them!! We need answers here and maybe this will wake them up.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

We're not, to my knowledge, but many may be.  There definitely seems to be strange somethings going on lately with USPS and with eBay.

Does it look like it's a particular postal hub where the packages are all going which routes them wrongly?

I'm not sure yet. They leave Miami- Opa Locka Sort Facility and show in transit, 6,7 & 8 days later they are arriving in Tampa.  My local post office doesn't know and doesn't care, and the hold time at the 800# is 1hr 45-1hr 50. Ebay should be checking into this.  I also have 4 packages that show no update since the 20th.

I have had the same problem.  My packages go thru Opa Locka and they have gone nowhere for 4 to 5 days or even more.  Started on the 20th.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

Hello, I have been having a lot of problems with my USPS here in Dallas. They will not scan my packages at the door. My old mail carrier did. New carrier and the manager at USPS said they do not have time to scan packages.

I am getting late shippment defects frequently. I schedule USPS pick ups every night. At least one day a week, my packages are not picked up. I have a camera at my door, so I know what happens.

I have had several packages that don't get scanned in Dallas at all, but will get scanned in another city 3 days later. I clearly do not go to Pittsburg and ship packages or Florida, etc. I have dropped below top rated seller a couple of times. Have to call into eBay and sometimes they will take them off, and some times they don't. Even if it gets delivered on time.

I have 18 defects that I have had removed because they were not scanned locally, but were scanned in another city and did get delivered on time.

I spoke with several departments at eBay about this and they said I need to get more people to call in if other ebayers are having same problem. So if you are getting defects, your local USPS is not scanning your items, your mail does not get picked up.

Also, my mail does not get picked up most days until 6pm, so when it does get scanned it's late and that's effecting my late scans also.

I could not believe eBays response to this. They said buyers have expectation to see items tracking and it's my responsibility as a seller toget my postal carrier to scan. They won't. Going to the USPS is not an option for me.

If you are having this problem I would love to here from you.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

The terrible shipping delays with Fedex Smart Post cost me 2 neg feedbacks and also a refund to someone who finally got their item and got to keep it for free because ebay had already refunded them. I'm practically in shock at the travesty that is occurring regarding the shipping screwups.

OMG...I have the same problem. I started receiving messages today and this is frustating. I have a lot of tracking numbers saying "On its way to.... for 2 or 3 days and then they still are in FL and again 2 or 3 days "On its way to...".  Look at this tracking number, It as shipped on January 16.  Where can we find someone from USPS who gives an explanation of what's going on?

I can't believe ebay is not aware of this problem. I called, and they said they had no idea. They should be all over this, and find out why our packages are not being delivered.  Customers are opening INR cases.  Not waiting on hold for 1hr 45 min for USPS. The local post office blew me off, I said call someone.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

Hi,

This is a different  issue.  I get all my packages scanned at the counter, but they are not getting to their destination.  They are showing in transit to destination, and 6 days later going to a totally different city.

Shipping delays, what's happening?

Just happened to me. My item is officially 10 days in transit today (international) and the buyer wants a refund. But what I don't get is not what the hell is happening with the shipping, but why do the buyers want refunds? They can clearly see the item is in transit. They know they will get it eventually. Don't they feel bad about them receiving both the refund and the free item? I don't understand it. I would never, never do this to anybody.

You are correct, the problem is at Opa Locka. I just spent an hour on hold with USPS.

When I saw Hollywood and Key Largo having the same problem as me, that's means FL issue.

USPS said even though it shows in transit, it doesn't mean the package left the facility.

I agree with this, people asking for refunds is ridiculous. They can clearly see the tracking, and the post office has possession of the item.  I have all my items scanned at the counter, so it's not like they don't don't where it is. I've had 2 cases opened for refunds so far.
