Shipping charges to buyers

I have noticed repeatedly that when a sale ends, the shipping charge is much much more than what i had originally; i checked my other listings and on some 2 or 3 day ups was selected- not by me, by ebay apparently! I would never select a shipping fee of 25.00 when they can get it for $7! 
Now i had to refund the difference to the buyer- what a pain! When i contacted them, they seem clueless as to all of this. Any ideas?

I don't think that it was eBay's mistake this time. Your last two sold listings show the method of shipping as "UPS 3 day select".

As I previously mentioned i am meticulous about the shipping i select. I would never select such expensive options.
