I requested a return while the item was being shipped. Will it be returned with the same person shipping it?

How do you plan to return an item you do not have?
What was the seller's reaction to your request?
I think you need to provide some more details.

No one here knows that. Ask your seller. We don't know who he is or if he dropships. Why did you jump the gun and open a return? You only have 5 business days to ship the item back. You should have waited until AFTER you received the item to request a return. If you don't ship the item back within those 5 days and the return closes, you won't be able to get help from eBay.

This happened to me recently; a customer stated that the item was broken yet I received this message a mere 34 minutes after the shipping label was printed and they were notified of that action. I simply and kindly replied to the person that surely they must have confused this order with another as there was no way that they had received it yet. I did not state that I actually still had it in my possession either. I also did notify eBay that I was a bit concerned about the transaction and asked whether I should still ship the item because perhaps the recipient was going to break the item upon getting it which would really stink as then it truly would be a loss. eBay advised me to go ahead and still send it and also saw that I had communicated with the buyer in a very positive way and also claimed to make a note regarding this transaction and that I had called and filed a report [I made sure too that they understood that I did not see another avenue for "reporting" - a very strong word - something about the buyer and they did once again reassure me that in no way would it negatively affect myself or the buyer by doing this].
I sent the item and never heard another word from the customer so either they really did confuse it with another order or decided not to pull whatever they were trying to pull. Had they messaged me that they made a mistake or whatever, that would have been okay since I still technically had not dropped it in the mail seeing as it had only been a half hour and I was still printing and preparing my additional outgoing items. To me, a same day purchase and return is definitely a red flag but clearly doe not always mean a negative outcome.
Therefore, this leads me to why are you requesting a refund immediately after shipment? I would like to understand this more from a buyer standpoint. Why did you not save yourself and the seller the trouble by letting them know that you no longer wanted to make the purchase BEFORE they shipped it? I would genuinely appreciate any additional insight regarding this matter as you can sort of see my train of thought as a seller when something sort of similar happened to me and I mean no malice in my questions; I am genuinely curious and always wish to gain knowledge and understanding from all viewpoints 🙂
Thanks and my best regards to you and yours,
Laura

Since you are brand new to Ebay, maybe you should think more about what you want to buy before actually buying it and causing problems for Ebay sellers.
Asking for a return before you even have the item is not cool.

Your post makes no sense at all. How in the world are you going to return an item you don't even have?
Think before you act.
