Shipping and Insuring Unique and High-Value Art

Happy New Year!

We sold a $9,000 original painting and would like to find a suitable shipping company that will fully insure artwork. Our normal go-to is FreightQuote, however they will not accept one-of-a-kind pieces. 

Which shipping carrier is best and will accept unique art and fully insure the art on the way to the buyer? It is a domestic shipment.

You could call some high end art galleries and see if they know of any.

I would use UPS Ground through pirateship.com and insure it for $9,000 with their private insurance. The insurance costs 85¢ per $100, for a total of $76.50.
