Shipping & USPS

I dropped of a small package the same day I printed my shipping label, a week a go.  USPS still hasn’t scanned it into the system so as far as my buyer knows, I still have it.  USPS can’t even track it because they haven’t scanned it in.  Gilbert, Arizona.

Re: Shipping & USPS

If the buyer files a claim you'll have to refund without tracking confirming delivery.

Next time get a scan before you leave the post office.

Re: Shipping & USPS

I have dealt with a similar situation multiple times. Just have to wait til it’s at the buyers PO to get a scan. The solution is to scan packages at your PO. I scan at the kiosk.

Re: Shipping & USPS

Did you mail it from AZ?

Curious as to what city and state is the destination?

Re: Shipping & USPS

Don't panic, if the USPS has it, it will probably be scanned at the destination or at delivery. Sometimes this happens because the label is not printed dark enough, the barcode is not completely flat, or for no perceivable reason at all. Not common, but it does happen.

Even if they are scanned at the PO right in front of someone, the package may or may not appear in the system immediately. I have had packages scanned at the PO take 24-48 hours to appear in the system, very rare but it has happened.

Re: Shipping & USPS

They seem to be doing that a lot these days.  Had that happen and got dinged by eBay for late shipping.  All you can do is ask them to scan it while your there but my local post office won't. Said it flat out too.

Re: Shipping & USPS

lord, my post man has not been scanning packages delivered to me.. I feel bad for the people that sent them.  I have to let them know they arrived.

Re: Shipping & USPS

you can put a missing package claim out with the post office if your concerned.  If you do not have an account with them you should set one up and you can request a search be made.    I did that for a package I was waiting for from China.. And they found it..  It was weeks I was waiting for it too.

Re: Shipping & USPS

Have them scan it at the counter only. If you drop it off without scan it can be lost and seller is responsible
