Shipping Transmission On Pallet

I recently sold this transmission through eBay and am needing to ship from Euless, TX to Pharr, TX. Weight is approximately $350lbs and dimensions are 4ft length 2ft width 2ft height.

I was wondering what companies you guys recommend to have this item shipped? I’ve looked at FedEx and UPS both of which quoted over $700 to ship and I was looking for something closer to $350-$400 if possible. Has anyone used Shiply before and if so how was your experience?

Lastly. How do I create a freight shipping label through eBay? It is only letting me choose from the regular labels but nothing freight related?

Re: Shipping Transmission On Pallet

Below is some of the standard advice I give about freight shipping. I do not have any experience with Shiply. Here are some recent discussions about them:

You cannot purchase freight labels through eBay, but you can input the shipping data/tracking after you purchase it from the freight carrier.

This page is a good reference for freight shipping on eBay and links to a list of freight carriers whose tracking integrates with eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/shipping-on-ebay/freight-shipping

Research your options. You should speak with the carrier to determine if they offer packing services or if you need to handle that yourself, if they have a lift gate for residential delivery, what their insurance coverage is, do they have online viewable signature confirmation for delivery, what happens if the buyer refuses delivery for some reason, etc. Cover all your bases before diving in.

Keep in mind the risk factor. If a buyer files a claim (whether a true claim or a false claim), you're on the financial hook to deal with that. Some items are best sold with the Local Pickup Only option.

Many sellers use freight shipping quite successfully. If you jump in, do it with your eyes wide open. Learn all the potential outcomes before going that route.

Re: Shipping Transmission On Pallet

The idea of selling an item that size one should do their research first. Your best bet is to sell it local pick up only. Then the shipping would be on the buyer when they pick it up.

But since you already sold it you need to contact a freight company to ship it. I doubt you get a quote for anywhere near what your hoping for.

If I am incorrect someone will chime in shortly.

You sold for $500 with $377 shipping? Where did you come up with the shipping price if you didn't already know what it would cost you to ship it.... that sounda bass ackwards.
