When selecting shipping options to make available for my buyers to select from, I noticed something.
The first shipping selection offers a choice of free shipping for the buyer or no free shipping. I had selected free shipping for a listing and noticed that ONLY the first shipping selection was Free Shipping. The other 3 options I provided still showed that the buyer was to pay for the shipping.
So, out of 3 shipping options, if I select free shipping for the first option the other two are not considered free shipping as well?
If this is true, then this gives my shipping preferences a whole new dynamic,
Is there information on this from eBay I am not finding in shipping?
Please share any information.
Thank you & have a wonderful summer.

And that is correct. After all, 1st Class (now GA) costs less, so you offer that service for 'free'. If a buyer wants it 'faster', they should be paying for it- after all, one would cost you $6 and another would cost you $12-so why would you want 'all' to be free?

You could try entering zero as the price for the second and third options. But why would you offer multiple free shipping services?

Thank you for your response. However, I think you misunderstood my question.
Also, to answer your question of why I would offer multiple shipping options.
When setting up the shipping options, I provide 2 to 3 shipping options for the buyer to select from. For instance, an item weighing under a pound can ship First Class which takes 2-5 business days. I also include the option for Priority Mail & Flat Rate Priority shipping that takes 1-4 business days. Depending on how soon they need the item, this gives buyer a choice of shipping options.
When setting these shipping options up, the first offered shipping option I can offer free shipping. But the alternative options cannot be offered at free shipping.
Thank you

Outstanding. Thank you for your response.
I wanted to get another perspective of this situation. And your answer makes so much sense to me. Yes, if I offer free shipping for the first option, then if they want it faster, they should need to pay for that.
Thank you. Have a great summer.
