Is anyone else experiencing this? I've been selling off my perfume collection and have used Ebay's shipping options to mail said packages. The packages are all very small all usually between 7" x 7" x 5". All are under the 13oz. All of my shipments thus far have been under $4.00. Today, I went to print a shipping label for a very small .5oz bottle and the shipping suddenly jumped to almost $8.00? Has there been a shipping increase? This is almost double what I usually pay for shipping.

There have been no changes in shipping prices .Probably the label form glitched and changed your shipping method to Priority Mail.

When you are printing your labels you absolutely have to take a second to check that you have highlighted First class, if that's what you want.
Many users have been getting defaulted to Priority mail and even express mail.

Thanks! You are correct. I don't know why but this shipment was in fact defaulted to Priority. Now is there a way I can choose First Class Mail after a sale has been made? It is not an option in the mailing options list when I try to print the shipping label.

Bottom of shipping- click 'see more' (blue box) and all the USPS options will come up (you have to scroll to see more).
Know that I looked at your last 5 items sold- all state 'expedited' shipping, which would be Priority, if you send 1st class, it could get there slower than shown, as well as customers are seeing 'expedited' so someone may expect 'not 1st class'.

On top of 'Expedited', the listings say USPS Legal Flat Rate Envelope.
Obviously, your perfumes can't ship that way. Have you possibly erred on a listing, then used 'Sell Similar'? That would created the error on subsequent listings.
Bottom line, your buyers may be expecting Priority, and something like this could cause a NAD... bummer.
Since shipping is Free to your buyers, maybe you could send them a note (admit the error, if there was one) and let them know that you use First Class. That seems reasonable to me, anyway...
Afterthought: check your other active listings' shipping. Good luck!

Aren't perfumes still restricted to using a GROUND method of shipping? If so, then you can't use first class or priority.
You need to use Package Select if printing your shipping label online, so the package is using ground transportation.

You have to fill in the customized weight and dimension options at the top of the print-shipping label page and then select the appropriate shipping option.

I dont think expedited means priority unless the weight is over 1 lb. I select expedited for a lot of listings and I mail 1st class as much as I can

Yes, perfumes can only be shipped ground, which rules out both FCM and Priority, leaving Parcel Select/Ground only.
https://www.usps.com/ship/shipping-restrictions.htm
"Perfumes
Perfume containing alcohol may not be shipped internationally or mailed domestically using air transportation. Perfume containing alcohol, however, may be shipped within the United States by ground transportation."
$8 is about right for the OP's package.

Right on the listing form itself when you select which shipping service to offer, you can see that eBay considers First Class package to be in its "Standard" category, not "Expedited."
