Shipping Fees

Maybe I am late asking this, but I thought Ebay gave discounts to sellers who use

Ebay shipping? I have only been selling sporadically the last year, due to a knee injury,

and usually lose money on shipping, because I mostly sell large dolls.

I recently sold a large Himstedt doll, they are usually around 14#, and the boxes are large.

The cost, using UPS was $49.+.  Which seemed a bit low, but fine, I had to add insurance,

because these dolls are no longer being produced, and  usually hard to find.

Now, on my invoice, I am being charged another $49.+! Why don't they just charge the

correct amount when I purchase the label?  The calculated price on the USPS website was

$68.00 but Ebay did not give me the option of using USPS Ground for this size of package.

In the future, I think I will use the USPS website. In the past, I had Stamps.com, but

it is too expensive now that I only sell every other month or so.

       Am I understanding this correctly?

              Thank you in advance.
