Shipping Discrepancy with UPS

You'll see from the images what I was originally quoted and later billed.  I reached out to eBay chat regarding the $16 difference and learned that the 20lb package I dropped off was billed at 60lbs.  As a long time seller, I can promise you I was not off by 40lbs.  eBay opened an investigation, credited me $16.  I appreciate their quick resolve, but I just wanted others to be aware if they see a difference in what they were billed and what they were later charged.

Hearing these overcharges, especially from UPS, the only thing I can reasonably think happened, is the boxes were stacked with others when they weighed them.  

How else can an item go from XXX weight to 3 times XXX weight.  We hear it so often, you gotta wonder how this keeps happening?

$16 was not enough of a credit, if they overcharged you $52+!!

Both you and the OP need to read up on “dimensional weight”. It’s discussed almost daily here; maybe you should stop guessing and catch up on facts.

I am sure you know about dimensional weight but if you are using UPS shipping on ebay you have come out way ahead compared to many others.

if the shipping  was 52 and they charged you 68  than thats a $16 difference

I guess what I am tryig to say is this happens frequently

all of the UPS pro sellers say to get your own account to stop this

also its hard to use the insurance sicne ebay is the buyer of record when you use UPS ebay shipping
