Shipped is not Shipped until it is Shipped

I have a problem with eBay saying an item is shipped when it isn't. All the seller has done is print a shipping label. Then they sit on it. I am solely a buyer. When I buy it now, I pay immediately. If I win an auction, I pay the very next time I visit ebay ---- which is probably twenty times a day. So, I have sent payment and the seller has printed a label and ebay is saying it is shipped but it is not.

The shipper site says,

"April 25, 2022, 11:28 am
Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item
a city i edited out, GA zip 

A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 11:28 am on April 25, 2022 in city, GA zip. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date."

I want this to stop somehow. My feeling is that the seller is waiting for ebay to send the money, but ebay likes to sit on it. [can we say accruing interest by the boatload] It's possible that ebay is waiting to receive it from my bank, but I really really really do not believe that.

Anyway, what can be done. Nothing.

@completepuzzle Actually your seller most likely did ship your item already. If your seller chose not to stand in line to wait for an employee to scan their item, they take a chance that it doesn't get scanned until delivery. So the presumption isn't that the seller never shipped your item but that they didn't wait to get it scanned for acceptance.  You'll probably receive it on Monday but worst case just keep an eye on the estimated date of delivery. Once that passes with no item then just open an item not received case, which will close in your favor. Remain positive that you will receive your item shortly. Best of luck to you....

All you have to worry about is the estimated delivery date, not when the pkg was or was not scanned with acceptance.

eBay shipping labels come with a tracking number that is posted immediately after a label is made.

That's not going to stop.

What the label details don't tell you is the shipping date on the label. If their handling time is three days the seller could have post dated the label for 3 days later. USPS says online labels  have  to be mailed on their shipping date.

Tracking is really of no importance because it's not mandatory and you can ship a number of items without it before it counts against the seller. Also when it does count it only counts if tracking shows accepted or with the shipping partner by their handling time.

There's nothing to do until you don't  get it.

I bought and paid on 4/23. The label was created on 4/25. Tracking says, "April 25, 2022, 11:28 am
Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item
NORCROSS, GA 30071 
A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 11:28 am on April 25, 2022 in NORCROSS, GA 30071. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date."

It also says, "

A tracking number was provided.Tracking summary

Arriving by Tue, May 3"

My postman has delivered today.

Edit to add: Now wait... I'm confused. Your mail has delivered... did the product come? If not, and you haven't received it by one day past 5/3, you can open an Item Not Received claim. Good luck.

No. The postman delivered my other stuff. He didn't deliver this item from the lazy seller.

@completepuzzle Now you follow the procedures for opening an item not received case. Here is the link to that. Just follow the prompts and the system will handle the rest. Either you will receive your item shortly or you will receive a full refund. Best of luck to you....

Get help with an item that hasn't arrived | eBay

It is now the day after the day it was supposed to arrive. The ebay instructions say contact the seller OR "come back to us."

I don't want to contact the seller. Ebay created this mess and I want ebay to contact the seller. I want ebay to recognize and admit that although they keep saying it is shipped, it never has been.

"Come back to us" is a bogus, flippant phrase signifying nothing. 🙄

The refund is now pending at my bank. 😐 

I still maintain that ebay should not use the word 'shipped' in association with 'printing a label.'

USPS does not always scan the package upon arrival: may show up some were down the line.

If you do not receive the item by the estimated delivery date, come back and ask us users what you should do.

With USPS this day an age its pay more receive less.......

I NEVER turn over a package without solid documentation (scanned acceptance).  Otherwise, what proof do I have.  Sender is responsible until custody transfer is documented.  Especially when "expedited shipping" was part of the transaction.
