How do I ship to a different address then the one that is associated with the EBay buyer’s account? The buyer lives In Hawaii and wants me to ship the item to an address in California to save shipping costs. I can’t figure out how to do it.

Don’t do it.
Sellers must ship to the address provided with payment or sacrifice any thread if seller protection there is.
Scammers often send messages to sellers after a listing ends asking to ship somewhere else.
Are you sure this message to change addresses is even from the real buyer?
Contact your real buyer and ask if they really wanted the address changed. If they say yes, then you can cancel. Be sure to choose ‘issue with buyers address’.
You can then relist and they can buy it again, this time making sure to get their shipping address correct.

You dont - he does. He chooses his address to ship to when he sends you his payment. He does not change his mind and send you a different address later. If he wants to change the address after payment then you refund him (choosing the problem with address reason) and he can buy again after correcting his address. This is his issue to deal with - not yours. If he has not paid yet then he just needs to look carefully at his payment form to see where to plug in an alternate address.
And before all that - verify that the message you got about changing the address actually came from the SAME ID as your buyer. If it did not - just ignore it because that is a routine scam.

Do not do it. If you do, eBay's sellers protection is forfeited. You are to ship to the address on order. Simple as that. Buyer has the option prior payment to enter the shipping address.
Basically, he is trying to scam you, you alter the shipping and send item, most likely to a friends address, and then the buyer will file a item not receive claim against you, eBay will notice that item was sent to another address and will refund buyer. You will loose the item and the $. That is what it is basically happening.
Now, you tell buyer that you will ship to the address on file, simple as that, or you can cancel sale using problem with buyers address.

Tell the buyer you have to cancel their payment. They then have to re pay with the address entered they want it shipped to. You will lose protection if you ship to another address. Ask if that is what they want.

From your location in Ohio, both California and Hawaii are USPS zone 8. The shipping cost will be the same to either state if you are using USPS.
Heed the other posters' warnings about the likelihood of a scam @hoer2211-i1froqb4ut.
If the message came from your actual buyer and they want to change the address, tell them the only way is to cancel the order and they need to repurchase, entering their new address before they pay.
