A buyer purchased an item from me, and then asked that I ship it to an alternate address, different than the address on the order. I agreed in a message, but that I forgot to and shipped to the address on the order, with tracking. What are my responsibilities as a seller going forward with this order beyond providing tracking with delivery confirmation, given that I agreed to send to an alternate address, (which I now know is the wrong this to do)?

Actually you should have refunded the payment and had them repay with the corrected "ships to" address.
As far as eBay is concerned you MUST ship to the address provided in the "ships to" area of the payment.
