Sending the sold item later than my handling time states

Good day, Ebay-community. I have a question regarding the handling time and shipping.

I've sold the item just now and AFTER that buyer contacted me saying that he won't be able to receive the package until the middle of the next week. I, personally, don't see any problem here, I can just send it later, so it would definitely reach the buyer. But does Ebay have problems with me sending the package later than my 2-days-handling time states? Won't my account be restricted?

Thanks in advance for any info and advices.

Yes, you will get a late shipment ding on your account.

You as a new seller do not want to do this.

You may not be restricted for 1 but ...

I would message the buyer and let them know that you cannot hold the item. You need to ship by Tuesday (2 days).

The buyer can either have it help at the PO or cancel and repurchase (if still available) when they will be there.

You can purchase the label and wait to ship it for around 3-4 days.  I have done this often.  The buyer can't expect you to get a strike against your account.  Just tell them what you are going to do

Late shipment can not cause your seller status to go to "Below standard" nor will it cause your account to be restricted.

Shipping time is a factor in achieving Top Rated Seller status, which requires on-time shipping for 95% of your transactions, so if you hope to one day achieve TRS then don't make a habit of it. IMHO for the sake of good customer service I'd hold off on shipping this time.

Purchasing the label and not shipping could be still affect the late shipment metrics as those are based on the accepted at the post office scan.

They wouldn't get a ding on their 'uploaded within handling time and validated' metric but unless they are TRS, that metric doesn't really matter.

A few years ago I had a buyer win an auction, pay for it, and then requested that I hold it for a month before shipping as buyer would not be home. This was in the days when you could call an eBay rep directly, and the rep was able to verify the buyer's request. Then flagged the item so that I wouldn't get dinged for a late shipment, and gave me a case number to use in the event that I did get a late shipment penalty. I was not penalized, kept my 100-percent on time shipping intact, and shipped the item after the buyer let me know they were back home. I would do the same thing if it happened again, using the eBay call back system.
