I ordered a product listed as from Fitzroy - I have a screenshot. He then sends from China and provides me a tracking number from China.
Upon contacting him he denies it ever said Fitzroy and sends me screenshots of his revised listings (after I reported him to Ebay). I send him my screenshot and somehow he still denies it. After a back and forth he tells me I'm trying to get it for free, despite never saying that. Needless to say I'm sick of dealing with him as when he's met by facts he either denies it (and it doesn't make sense) or he changes the subject...
Now I paid the extra money to get it from Australia, quickly. It was estimated as arriving on the 24th of April (latest date) and it's now obviously the 7th of May. I doubt it will be here for a long time. So it there any way to go through Paypal and get a partial refund because I feel like I've been ripped off.
I send him a link of them from China selling for $6 (free postage). I don't expect that, but I paid $25 which is over priced by far.

Yes, it's called drop shipping and yes eBay tolerates it. Drop shipped items are listings that usually have multiple quantities and usually have stock pictures. Most buyers don't know unless they track the package and see an International carrier like DHL.

I don't understand how they can do it. His ad says coming from Melbourne, yet he sends from China? And I pay for the lie, with cash and time? Why don't all overseas sellers do this? It's just a rip off plain and simple.
Since it still hasn't arrived I will be opening an item not received, but I'm sure ebay/paypal aren't going to do anything since there's a tracking number. I just can't afford to wait as I don't know what limit there is on making missing item complaints.
I think this is terrible service from the seller and ebay and paypal.
