Semi-scam

Hello Ebay community,

On the 12th of March 2016, I bought a League of Legends account after a quick discussion.

Before about a month I instantly lost access to that account and after some digging I understood that the seller I bought the account from had gotten it back.  The story is really long. And of course I have proof that I no longer have access to the account. I contacted the game company but they denied helping me and stuff so I searched for similar cases here.

I found old, similar cases where the people were denied help because of Ebay's terms that player accounts are not ok to sell, but then I checked, and I saw the terms were, I guess, updated. So that gave me a bit of hope.

I tried contacting support and working through the return item option but it's not finding the purchase, maybe because it was long ago.

So since I'm not getting the account back, and the seller scammed me, I'm hoping to get some help on at least having a refund or something.

I have screenshots of me and the seller's conversations, my paypal payment, my ebay purchase, and proof that, that is the exact seller.

I won't post any sensitive info here but if anyone is willing to help me with the topic, please contact me on ebay messages or the email hooked up with this account and I will be sharing the whole story.

Best Regards and thanks in advance.

Re: Semi-scam

Ebay gives you 30 days. Paypal gives you 180 days.  You are FAR beyond either of those deadlines.  Neither will cover digital items such as game accounts, so you would have been toast anyway.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Re: Semi-scam

Well I read about the deadlines but it said that in SOME instances there may be a solution no matter that deadline. Are you sure that's not the case here ?

Because since in the terms, digital items such as accounts, characters, game currency etc. are perfectly good to be sold, meaning all complications with the purchase should be noted, no ?

And if I cannot do anything with Ebay's help, could I ask for a chargeback on Paypal if this certain case appeals ?

About Paypal, I remember some guy went on a donating frenzy, donating to streamers on twitchdottv in this case, and he refunded everything a year after, which is obviosly more than 180 days.

Thanks in advance

Re: Semi-scam

Sure but, I'm asking IF this could fall in the SOME instances category of cases ?
Also how do I contact them because I've only found an option to call them for now.

Thank you

Re: Semi-scam

@dodidodojr_2 You can't file a chargeback through PayPal. Chargebacks are filed through your credit card issuer and I highly doubt your card issued will allow you to file one 18 months after purchase. It's time to let this go and move on. You have no recourse.

Re: Semi-scam

Frankly you deserve the loss of the account.

Honest folks put a lot of time and energy in to building their accounts, its not fair that some cheater with cash can just buy an account.

You violated the LoL terms of service.

Try to play the game honestly, you might actually have fun!

Re: Semi-scam

Well the story goes longer than that,

First, yes I realise I did violate the LOL terms of service.
Second, I talked a lot with the guy, he said the account was of his friend who quit league and wanted to get money for CS:GO skins so I wasn't ripping anyone off.

I got permanently banned on my previous original account and was super **bleep** about it.
So i just made the decision to buy an account and reform, which I did and hit honor level 5. But then, bam, this happened.

So in the end, the guy got his money, then I paid a lot for RP and got his account back with my money on top so, good for him.

I can contact Riot support and show proof that he sold the account but I won't be the jerk in the situation.

But oh well, sucks for me.

Thanks for the reply.

You did nothing wrong OP other than ask a question.

Some here will get on their high horses to make themselves feel better.

That's all.

Re: Semi-scam

Ah well, I deserved it after all, cause I took the risk myself I guess.

So I have no option left, no ?

Re: Semi-scam

why are you asking these people instead of trying paypal ? they are not paypal and who know sif they are correct? why would you allow these people's responses to limit your efforts to get back money someone stole from you?
