Selling

1. Large item.

2. Put for sale with "local pickup."

3. Buyer paid for the item.

4. I needed to ship it using FREIGHT.

5. How do I invoice the freight cost which is significant? Or how do I get paid for the shipping cost? Thank you...

If it was listed as pick up only, advise the buyer they have to pick it up.

You do not "need to ship it using freight" since the listing did not offer freight shipping.  If you were willing to do freight shipping, why didn't you list it that way, so this issue would not arise?

If the buyer is unwilling or unable to pick up the items (per the terms of the listing) then you should cancel the transaction citing problem with buyer's address (or maybe "Buyer requested", depending on what he states in messages to you).

If it was that bench that you sold, it was NOT listed as local pick up. YOU did list it as freight.

The problem is (other than me) I created the listing and used Local Pickup.

The buyer paid for all of what was due at that time.  Since I had it as Local Pickup, there was no shipping charge.

It needed to be Freight. The shipping charge is around $500.

I cannot find a way for the buyer to pay the freight cost unless we do a transaction outside eBay, for example using PayPal.

If you already paid to ship it, not much you can do now.

You can ask the buyer if they'll pay, but there's no way to make them.

If they will, do it through Pay Pal, Venmo or another service.

Have a great day.
