TO ALL SELLERS!!! Please stop sending bulk packages via USPS during covid! Packages that normally take a few days are now taking 30 days or more! You can easily solve most of these issues using Fedex Or UPS.

I use USPS exclusively for domestic shipping.........
My late shipment rate for the past year is 0.70% which means that 99.3% of my shipments have arrived on time.
I think I'll stick with USPS, nothing cheaper (or more reliable).

UPS charges $8.50 just to pick up here, and FedEx will not pick up AT ALL. Postage for most of my items through USPS is less than that pick up fee alone. Not everyone here has the same privileges as you.

Love it when one person manages to find the one key answer none of us very experienced sellers have been able to determine ourselves....

You can always message your sellers and ask if they will ship the way you want them to.
I use USPS 99% of the time and even in this covid mess they are getting them where they need to go and on time or close to it. I have to drive to UPS or FedEx to ship and walk into their office. USPS picks up, and I don't waste gas, time, money and my health due to possible contact with Covid 🙂
I have had buyers ask me to ship another way occasionally and I have done it if it made sense.
Otherwise, USPS all the way. My packages (several platforms) are getting there and happy customers. However, I will not currently use ground shipping. I have it listed on items over 1 pound as the buyer normally choses it, and then I bump them to Priority mail as the price is about the same after my discount.

I will stick with USPS
I had a few late deliveries in Dec 2020 but everything finally got delivered. Since then I have shipped many First Class items and all have been delivered on time. So no thank you I will not be switching.

The USPS does a lot of last mile delivery for Amazon and the stuff is already pre-sorted when it hits the local sorting centers. The USPS cannot, by law, deliver for less than cost, so the contract they make with large internet/catalog sellers is necessarily revenue positive.

Sorry, but as a seller I will determine what works best for me and it is not UPS or FedEx. If a buyer does not want their items shipped via USPS they can purchase them elsewhere.
Other than a few slow deliveries I've had no problems shipping USPS during the pandemic. Now if you want to talk about the Christmas gift that I ordered thru Amazon and was shipped FedEx that took three weeks to go less than 100 miles, that's another story. Fortunately I ordered it before Thanksgiving.

I am still on the UPS train until USPS catches up completely in MI, NY, Chicago, New Jersey and all of PA to name a few.
I used to use USPS 90% of the time until recently. I am more interested in keeping the Advil bottle untouched.
My business model on eBay can work with UPS without taking many transaction hits on shipping price. I just look at the total profit for the month. Shipping a few UPS that have 1st Class Package advertised won't break the bank. Anything with Priority attached to it goes UPS as well.
Still not using USPS for anything shipping East, West or North out of Dallas. I have used USPS for deliveries within Texas.

Forgot to mention... When USPS takes down that big red alert banner on the top of their website, that might be a good sign.

No kidding? Thanks for that info!
What does FedEx or UPS charge to send a 8 oz. package from Hawaii to New York? Is it more than $4?

Where you reside is a different ballgame. My business policy for UPS excludes Hawaii, PR and Alaska.

USPS has a monopoly on First Class and Media Rate. Talk to Joe.

No packages that I have sent in the last month have taken more than 10 days to be delivered. And most of those have been media mail.
I have had one "item not received" case filed since COVID became an issue last February.

I've had a bunch go through MI, NY, NJ and PA in the past month with zero delays. It's just the stuff from early/mid-December that's still backlogged, anything sent now is moving along just fine.
