I've requested to return a defective item and the seller accepted my request, but won't provide a return shipping label. I've tried contacting him, but he won't answer. I've called UPS and they said the seller needs to provide the label, otherwise I'll have to pay for the shipping. The shipping is 80$ and the item costs 250$. I can't escalate the problem to a case, because I don't have that option in the item return page. It says if I don't send the item within 7 days, my refund might be denied. What can I do and what are my options here?

I agree. eBay is good at protecting both buyers and sellers. Seller just files an INR or he contacts eBay directly and they'll happily check the status of the return and look over the case and take the user's history into account.

Well that’s not really how it works, the users history is irrelevant. eBay doesn’t look into anything, they use computer bots. For an INR seller wins if they have proof of delivery. For SNAD, buyer is told to return the item for a refund unless the seller refused to accept the return and in that case the buyer sometimes gets a refund without returning the item. eBay doesn’t ever look at both sides, compare the evidence and look at each users hiStory.
