I’ve been using eBay as a buyer for close to 25 years.
It seems that some of the absolute slowest domestic shipping from seller to buyer involves the seller’s choice to use DHL with its ultimate hand-off to USPS.
This is usually accompanied by dismally poor or absent tracking.
I’m waiting on 4 items shipped(?) together from NJ, and one item from Milwaukee. Supposedly, the Milwaukee seller shipped by DHL. It went to Melrose Park, IL, and has languished there for days. I live 50 miles west of Milwaukee, and could have had this item last week if the seller had simply used USPS from the start.
I think eBay should take a look at DHL delay tendencies and take measures to steer sellers away from DHL , while warning buyers of DHL use by sellers. In the meantime, I will do what I can to AVOID sellers relying on DHL. This may require sending a question to the seller before buying.

I agree. Melrose Park, IL is the black hole. Items will sit there forever. My last item I bought sat there for days and then the USPS sent it to the wrong post office so it was further delayed.

I agree. So slow. Painful. I will never order an ebay item from US to be shipped to Canada. Supposedly eBay's system "simplifies" the international process. Ha. DHL depot in Melrose Place appears to be a black hole. All of my packages to US addresses get delivered smoothly.
