Seller states combined shipping in item description, but disabled CS invoice request upon payment

What does a buyer do when asked to pay $12 for shipping two items that by weight would cost around $6 to ship?

I recently made two purchases from a newbie seller that wrote "multiple items" are offered for consolidated package - in the item description sectuion, yet when I went to make payment, eBay is blocking the invoice request and saying seller doesn't offer combined shipping.

Is this a SNAD case base on technicality?  What are my options?

Well... it's kind of dicey. A seller offering to consolidate multiple items into one package, but making no reference to reducing shipping if that occurs. 🤔

But you don't have a SNAD until you receive an item (or items)... technically.

There are many times when the cart will say that the seller doesn’t combine shipping even though the seller is willing to do so.  I wouldn’t automatically blame the seller.  Try contacting them and see if you can work something out.

When you bid on an item you are also agreeing to the terms of the auctions which include shipping.  Most sellers will work with you on shipping.  Just remember, that shipping costs also include other factors just besides postage. eBay for one takes their commission out of everything when an item sells which includes the final price of the item, shipping costs paid, and even sales tax. Some sellers also have others package and mail items which is very expensive. I would suggest if you aren't agreeable to the shipping costs, don't waste any more of your time and just ask the seller to cancel the purchase of your items. Most likely the seller will then come back to agreeing to give you a shipping discount.  $6 for shipping will only get you a few ounces at best depending on the distance with insurance.  Cheap postage days are long gone. USPS higher Holiday rates have also kicked in which is unbelievable. Most Priority 1 lb is $10 and over at present. Good luck!

this is a common problem

many buyers have grown exasperated as they wait for the answer about combinbed shipping that is just never answered

if you pay $12 then you are just agreeing to it

if you want an answer you could end up waiting till next weekend

try the request an invoice thing or ask ebay to ask the seller, call up the CSR team

you could also just contact them thru the feedback column.it might wake them up

package should weight only 9 or 10 ounces, far as I can tell.  I know because I sell some of the same items when I am not collecting or regularly handling them, myself.  thanks.

Is this a purchase of multiples from the same listing, or purchasing from multiple listings?

Either way, a newbie may not have things set up right.

Even an oldie may not be set up. I will combine shipping costs, but do not have combined set up.
