Why does it say that my pending payouts is not enough to print shipping labels when I do have enough? This is happening often.

This has happened to me as well. Only in my case, I can purchase FedEx or UPS labels, but only USPS is blocked out and says "Pending Payouts are not sufficient".
I do not understand.

You have to strike quickly on using 'pending' payouts... not 'pending' to your bank accounts, pending the processor to complete processing allowing ebay to 'send' you the $$... it is when they are 'pending' BEFORE they are 'released' to be sent to your bank account. AFTER they are released (you get the email from ebay that $XX is being sent to your bank)- it is no longer in 'pending' and cannot be used.
I found that out the hard way, plus it's going to be easier to have a monthly report of 'money sent' from my PP account that will account for all shipping.

You should have enough money in pending payouts if you are purchasing the shipping label before the money gets transferred by eBay to your bank account. For me this works because my shipping charge is part of that pending payout. I'm not sure how that works for sellers that offer free shipping but I would think that there should be enough money in the total item price to cover that expense. At least I know that whatever amount is being transferred is my net after all expenses. I'm not sure how that works with Fedex labels as that is charged to your eBay account invoice. Otherwise it must be some sort of glitch.

Me too! Change your payout transfer date to monthly.

I changed my pending payouts from daily to once a week. It allows me to have funds readily available for shipping labels or any other issue that may arise. My payouts are set to transfer on Tuesdays which is perfect since that is usually a slower day for me.

The issue is one of timing...say your buyer pays for sale on Monday night, eBay transfers all funds Tuesday morning, then you try to ship on Tuesday afternoon when pending payments are $0. I guess you make sure all labels are purchased prior to pending payment transfer?

"Pending" payouts refers to the money you're waiting for eBay to transfer to you, not the money you're waiting on from your purchaser.
Remember – "payouts" are what you receive for what you've sold, not what you're waiting on to be processed. If you have a zero balance in "Available" (which refers to "available for the next payout from eBay pending"), then you have no funds available to purchase postage with, even if you have transactions "processing".
(clear as mud, I know)

I use a daily payout. This happens to me occasionally if I have been paid out and I don’t have any new sales. I switch it to my paypal account that is directly tapped into the bank account that I use for ebay. That way the shipping still comes out of my ebay proceeds.

So convenient to let eBay hold your money longer, right? No way I'm allowing them to hold my money a month while they get rich at my expense.... Well, at least MORE so, anyhow.

But it says in the text it will use my bank account if there wasn't enough in Pending.... So it's just screwed up.

there is no monthly option with MP, so the suggestion by smithville is not really an option at this time, and was not at the time it was suggested.

Yup, agree there is something amiss there.
Been in MP over 2 years, and have never gotten the message of "insufficient".
