I have an ebay account but when I went to go purchase something I couldn't remember my password so I did a guest checkout. The email address that I used during the guest checkout was different than the email that I have connected to my registered ebay account. Then the seller sent me a completely different item than I ordered so I had to request to return it. The seller sent me a return label to the email address that I used during the guest checkout but since this was not connected to any registered ebay account, every time I tried to click on the link to print the label, it tried to bring me to the ebay sign in page and then I encountered a technical error because there was no registered account with this email address.
When I inititally placed the order, I got an email confirmation that requested that I complete my ebay registration. I didn't do this because I already have an ebay account using a different email address. I just didn't use it for this purchase. However, when I couldn't print the label, I went back to this email and clicked on the button to complete my registration. Once I did that, I was able to go into my purchase history and find the print label and print it.
So, my printing problem was DEFINITELY the result of checking out as a guest and not being able to connect my order with an actual registered ebay account. I think you have to complete the registration process by clicking on the "complete registration" button through the order confirmation email because I think ebay assigns some sort of temporary account number to the email address used during the guest checkout.
Anyway, I was incredibly frustrated with my inability to print my label from the seller's email so I wanted to share my experience in case it helps somebody else.
