Hi there, guys.
I paid for an item right as I placed the order, which was on October 3rd. The seller was not listed on vacation, shipping was supposedly usps first class. The seller has a 3 day handling time, so late on the 6th (I work night shift so it was actually early the morning of the 7th) I sent them a polite email asking if they knew when they would be able to ship. I let them know that there was no rush, I just wanted an ETA. No mail back.
So, I waited some more, no big, people get busy. But now it's the 9th and there's still no response from the seller, so I sent them another mail last night just asking again, politely, if they had an ETA for sending the item out. Still nothing. I'm trying not to pester them, but it's been 6 days since the item has been paid for.
I always check feedback before a purchase, and this seller has 97.7%, and two negs were from the same user, the third was from another user. Things happen sometimes, so I get having the occasional negative feedback, and try not to punish small sellers for them (so long as most of their feedback is good). Any advice or insight on what might be happening here? I got a good deal on the item, so it'll be a bummer if I don't wind up receiving it. Anyone else ever had this sort of thing turn out?

Hard to say what's going on. Perhaps the seller doesn't want to mail it precisely because you got a good deal on it. At this point, you just need to wait until the estimated delivery time and then file for INR (Item Not received). You gave the seller enough time to respond. If they are in such a dire situation (a genuine emergency) that they can't respond, do you think they will be able to mail your order?

Well, that's my thought too, if something emergent is going on that they might not. The good deal was a Buy it Now price, though. Guess it's a waiting game. Thanks for the response.

I'm on the same situation, purchased a good deal with Buy it Now and paid for the shipping (was not free shipping) and paid right away. Seller states ships within one day. It's been 5 days and nothing. Not even a purchased shipping label....nada! Yesterday I reach out via eBay messages asking for an update...no response. It's a new seller with like a feedback of 19 and 100% positive but I am thinking of just leaving a negative if item doesn't ship today or seller doesn't reply to message. I can then review that if seller completes the transaction and my item is received. If not, that stays and an INR case will be open in due time. Sellers need to know that selling on eBay it's a binding agreement to complete a transaction professionally, timely, with open communication and pleasantly. Buyers only duty is to pay promptly, as I did.

The seller could have purchased shipping at a retail counter. Sellers are not required to provide tracking. They are not required to respond to messages.
Feedback is for the whole transaction. You have 60 days to leave feedback. Wait for the last estimated date of delivery before taking any action.

Leaving a negative now would be ridiculously premature, despite the seller's lack of communication. Feedback should be left when the transaction is completely finished; it is not a tool for coercion or threats.
As noted in the other post, it's possible that this newbie seller has purchased his postage at the Post Office counter, and didn't realize that he's suppoed to enter the tracking number into the eBay transaction record. Try to be patient; there's nothing you can actually do until after the estimated delivery date. And thanks for posting.
