Seller marked the item as shipped, but they haven`t ship it

Hello

I purchased something from a seller located India.

ORDER DATE Apr 17, 2021.

Seller marked the order  as shipped and provided a tracking number.

After 10 days, order was not traceable as the system could not recognize it.

I messaged  the seller to ask if this tr. number is valid and they replied that they haven`t ship the order yet due to covid-19 conditions and that they would do their best to ship as soon as possible.

Another 10 days passed< I messaged them again and they replied the same.

I messaged them again yesterday and now they replied that if i want my order, I have to pay more shipping charges in order to ship it with express method instead with India Post.

I understand that there is a huge problem in India with the pandemic, but a friend of mine has ordered the same period and the other seller from India has shipped my friend`s order. Should I report this seller to Ebay?

If it's past the estimated delivery date, I would open an Item Not Received case in the Resolution Center.

You should open the Item Not Received claim. This, in effect, puts a seller on notice with eBay. Good luck.

Then there isn't much you can do until June 15th.

So the Estimated Delivery Date on the Order  is 6/13/21?

When you bought it on April 17th, did the seller advertise such a long handling time?

The estimated delivery  appeared automatically just after the placing of the order, in my purchase history list.

Maybe it is possible. The seller do not advertise alternative shipping methods. Now they demand to pay more in odrer to ship the package. Don`t you think that is Kinda an extortion? This fact shouldn`t be reported?

All the way from India in 57 days is not bad.  But of course that time does not start until the item is shipped.

I have a package sent to Columbia on April 27 (2800 Miles) and it has a estimated delivery date of July 14 (78 Days).

Not only they didn`t advertise such an option, but they have marked the item as shipped and provided a non working tracking number. When i asked them why they fool me and Ebay with fake announcements, they replied that they had to provide a tracking number because Ebay demands it.

They have set their self up for failure.  The 57 days starts ticking the day they entered the tracking number.  If they ship it tomorrow there is no way it will arrive by the deadline.  Come June 14th you can make a claim to eBay and get a refund.  If it arrives after you have been refunded they they will have to pay shipping to get it back.
