Seller is questioning my return

I bought an item with free shipping.  I knew it was used and carefully read the description.  The box it was sent in came with hole od, but I unwrapped the machine.

.

The description said the machine turned on and the needle worked.  But the machine cannot sew!  The case was stated to be scuffed up but it stunk.  Not just musty but moldy stink!  You smelled it before opening.  The top was held together by a scrap.  This is not just scuffed.

The buyer is wondering why when I returned it I kept the thread on the machine and threaded it?  How was I to test it?  I had an expert look at it and said it needed new (well 60 year old) parts as it was not working.  The cost was over $100 to fix it.

I sent it bak in the same box.  I tried to wrap it well but the buyer wondered why it wasn't exactly how he wrapped it. I am not an expert.

I have answered the buyer, m getting a bit worried that this is going to be a miserable experience.  I have good feedback.

Any ideas of how to get this done iin a nice manner?

Go back to the details of the case and choose the option to have eBay step in and help you get your refund.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.

Re: Seller is questioning my return

After receiving the return,a seller is given 6 days to issue a refund of your payment.

If you are not issued a refund contact ebay to step in.

Re: Seller is questioning my return

Did you open a Request for Return or were you simply emailing your seller?

Did your seller pay for the return shipping?

Did you ship it back with tracking?  If so and if you opened a Request for Return, go to that Request and escalate it to Ebay.  Your tracking should show you returned the item and that the seller has it.  If you escalate the Request to a Claim, Ebay will force the seller to refund you.

If you do NOT have tracking on the package, then this could go the opposite way.  You need to be able to prove you returned the item.

Re: Seller is questioning my return

SEPT..

Where are the answers  to  the questions  that MAM   asked you in her Post?  If you filed the right Dispute--and if     you sent this machine back WITH TRACKING  to prove your  Return--then contact  Ebay and ask  them to step in.  HOWEVER, if you did not  follow the procedures as outlined  by MAM---you may be you may be  out of   luck.Smiley Surprised

If so--the next time you have  a problem  with a transaction on Ebay--DO NOTtake any action, on your own.  Instead--come here first---and  ask for advice.    We will help you.

Re: Seller is questioning my return

I did follow every prodcedure and they received my tracked return.  It just seems that they do not want to make the return.  Ebay has stepped in for me and that is why I use Ebay instead of other sites.  I have never had this problem before.

I am now a bit nervous about buying a machine and I have learned to ask a lot more questions.  It just seems to me that a working machine means that it sews!
