Seller ignoring my messages for item failed during Warranty period

I bought a projector lamp in february this year.

On the item page, seller says that there is 180 days warranty.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/272238734808?ul_noapp=true

.

I sent him a message but he is ignoring it.

Who is responsible for this warranty, does ebay support this kind of warranty.

If this is not supported by ebay in some way that would be unfair not just towards buyers but also toward selling competitors. I decided to buy from this seller based on that warranty, there were cheaper sellers for the item on ebay.

Best Regards.

China ::sigh::

Ebay does not support warranties, a warranty would be between you and the individual seller if they happened to offer one, which most do not. Manufacturers don't honor warranties for items bought on the grey market, either.  Chinese sellers are all smoke and mirrors, because they know you're not going to send back an item for any supposed "warranty" because of the return shipping cost, which will be more than the cost of the item.

Ebay money back guarantee (MBG) gives 30 days from the date of delivery. Paypal gives 180 days from the date of payment.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

It's 'unbranded generic' from an Asian based seller. Despite the subtitle text, there is no warranty if the seller won't reply to you.

If you've had it less than 180 days, you may be able to file a claim with PayPal.

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

Your seller is in China.  I would say there is zero chance of the item having ANY warranty.  Good luck returning it for repair or replacement.

Thanks for answers.

Well I am not surprised if he doesn't want to send replacement. Giving warranty on that lamp is kinda dumb.

But the fact is that he wrote that text there, while he doesn't mean to send replacement.

This way he is hurting both buyers and competition.

I could have bought the item at lower price from other sellers.

I will try and contact PayPal as you suggested.

I looked at the listing and the alleged warranty is greyed out - I am not sure that makes a difference or not, however, I do not think you will get a replacement.  Not to be snarky or anything like that, even if you would be able to get a replacement, figuring that this one lasted approx three (3) months (I say three (3) because you may have only been able to use for three (3) months after it was shipped and  received), what is to say that the next one would be any better ?  I cannot see the revisions that were made, but maybe the Seller removed the alleged warranty.

I buy a lot of stupid stuff from China, but nothing electrical (unless battery operated), but I think that is why the Seller is no ignoring you.  PayPal may help, but you may have to pay for return shipping 😞

I just read the Seller's return policy, which is 60 days/buyer pays return shipping 😞  If you are within the 60 day limit, you may have a chance, but right now it appears your only chance is like a snowball in you know where 😞

PayPal will make you return at your own expense. And you have to ship with tracking to China which is at least $60. PayPal will reimburse up to $30 of your return shipping cost if you are in the US and you sign up for the program. I would just cut my losses now and buy this type of item from a brick and mortar store or a reputable dealer if you want a warranty.
