Hello,
I have a question regarding the cell phone that I bought on June 05, 2020. It was a new phone but I found an issue with that. I reached out to the seller but he asked me to return the item to Amazon, since he bought it from there and told me that after he get the refund back from there, he will pay me more than the actual amount I paid. I disagreed on that and wanted to stay within the eBay terms and policies. He wasn't ready to do it that way so I had to open a SNAD and eBay provided me a return address on which I sent the item back.
Few days later the seller reached out to me that I sent the item to his old address where he doesn't live anymore. I told the seller that the address was provided by eBay and that's the address which is provided by seller when they list the item. eBay refunded me back the amount I paid after the tracking showed delivered.
After 6 months the item came back to my address mentioning that the address was not for the relevant person. Now, I want to return the item to the seller to his new address, but I want to do it the safest way. Since now eBay is not involved in this case anymore. What would be the best way to send the item back to him so that later he can't claim that the item was returned back to the buyer and open a case against me and ask for money back after getting the item back. Moreover, I would have to approach him to get the new address and also the shipping cost.
P.S: I am asking here before reaching out to the seller since I had a bad return experience with the seller and I don't wanted to take any risk.
Thanks,

If you feel compelled to return the item to the seller, ask the seller for the correct address and for the funds to reship it. You've done your part once before. Good luck.
