Seller doesn't want to pay for return shipping, how do I ask ebay to step in??

Seller sent me a plastic ring instead of silver earrings. He led me on he will se d replacement earrings, but in a month time he did not. I opened a return request and seller responded they can't provide shipping label. I was supposed to contact them to give me money for shipping and they said they would send it to me but they didn't. How do I ask ebay to step in? In my return details page I only have the option to mark as shipped back, cancel return or contact seller.

Go to resolution center and open an item not as described case.

If it has been more that 30-days past the date the tracking shows delivered, then the time to file a return under the MBG has expired.  The only remedy at that point is to file for a return with PP (buyer pays return shipping) or a 'charge back' with your credit card company.

It was delivered February 2nd and I opened return request (I thought I was opening item not as described case) on March 1st. So now I can't ask ebay to step in anymore?

Usually in a NAD case, eBay or the seller issues a prepaid return label.  Generally the buyer has a time period to ship the item back - use to be a week or so, but now eBay appears to be allowing 35 days.  IF a buyer fails to use the return label and get an acceptance scan then the seller can ask eBay to 'step in' and close the case in the seller's favor.

 

A few points - I am guessing as it wasn't exactly stated.

 

1) if this was an international transaction, the seller can not buy postage for the return.  Buyer has to find shipping costs and send those costs to the seller who needs to send funds for the return shipping SEPARATE from the return funds.  Shipping should include tracking.

 

2)  All of this depends on the kind of return requested.  A lot of buyers get tripped up by the options and select the wrong kind.  i.e. select a "remorse" reason when it should be a 'not as described' reason.  When the seller has a "no returns" policy stated on the listing they are free to refuse a return/refund when a buyer selects a remorse reason, even though this is generally a bad business practice.  In a remorse situation the buyer pays return shipping.

 

3.  Is it possible in requesting the return that a remorse reason was selected?  Possible that a button was clicked that closed the return by accident?  eBay often has big buttons that draw one to click on them, even when doing so is not it the buyer's best interest.  One has to pay close attention.

I chose wrong item sent. And yes, it is international purchase and seller won't send me funds for shipping it back.

When you're stalled with no return label at the Mark Has Died page showing an international return address, eBay promised an Ask eBay to step in button after 5 business days, Mar 1 to Mar 8. But if that has not appeared, send a private message with your name, email, and zip code to eBay here and ask for a prepaid return label.

eBay will put the case on hold for 5 days for the seller to either refund outright no return needed, or send cash via PayPal to buy the return label. If the seller does neither, eBay will force a refund no return needed.

Good morning, ebay. I purchased item No. (394015289109 ) from a seller ( ebeyexpress ) and the seller sent me an item that does not match the picture in the item I purchased from him, and also the seller is responsible for shipping and returning the item to the seller, I returned the item to seller because the item does not match the picture and the seller before returning the item to him after sending many messages to the seller, but the seller does not want to send me a return label ? He asked me to buy a sticker to return the item to the seller and I went to the USP and asked them to make to me a label to return the item to the seller, they asked my USP for the amount of ($ 13.40) fees for returning the item to the seller and I ask to the seller to agree to pay these fees to me In the case of his item? I sent him several messages to the seller, but he did not respond to the approval, and the expiry time for returning the item to the seller is June 3, 2022, and the seller did not respond to my messages and I am asking for help and solving my problem with the seller. This is a copy of the UPS receipt. I am just waiting for the seller to agree (to tell me I agree to pay the fees because he is responsible for shipping and returning the item to him until the item is returned to him) to pay the ($13.40) sticker fee for returning the item to the seller. These fees are added to the item price ($21.64), so the total price becomes ($35.04). The seller returns this amount to a number. Thank you.

You opened a case on March 1.

If you didn't escalate the case or ask for help by 21 days after opening a case it will close with no activity as the reason. Closed cases can't be reopened.

You'll have to file a dispute on PayPal if you used PayPal for the payment  or a chargeback with your card provider if you didn't use PayPal.

You've already paid for the postage but haven't sent the item...correct?  Do not send it unless the seller has sent you the money or a label.  eBay can not force the seller to pay for the label once the item has been sent back so even if the seller 'agrees', you may not recover that money.

 

The seller has free returns so I thought that  you would automatically have received a link to print a label. Since that hasn't happened, you should contact ebay customer service before the deadline date to send the item back.  It would best to contact them by sending a private message with your information and the information about the transaction on either Facebook or Twitter.

I bought this item (Order number: 23-08604-98295 ) from seller(ebeyexpress (675,934 ) via ebay and the seller sent me an item that doesn't match the picture and I returned it to him, but the seller doesn't want to send the item back label and says buy the label and I bought the label from UPS at ($13.40) and returned the item to him but The seller refunded me the price of the item ($21.64) and the rest has the price of the label ($13.40). The seller is responsible for shipping the item and returning it to him.

Unfortunately, you did not read the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

If you had opened an item not returned case with eBay within 30 days of receipt of the item, and then returned to that case after 96 hours and asked eBay to step in, the seller would have been required to send you the prepaid return label and to refund you IN FULL upon receipt of the returned item.
