Seller asked me to wait. What should I do?

I bought something the 20th of November of 2018.

Shortly after, the estimated delivery date limit extended until the 23th of January of 2019.

The 2nd of February (this month) I contacted the seller issuing that I didn't receive the item. And he send me a picture that shows the envelope with my address and the item, assuring me that he sent it, and asking me to wait.

Is a cheap item and was posted in an envelope without tracking number.

I waited till today. But in 2 days it will be 30 days from the delivery date passed and I understand that is the limit to ask for a refund.

Am I right? I don't mind to wait a little bit more, but I'm not sure I'll be able to report an issue after this time.

Seller asked me to wait. What should I do?

Go to the resolution center and file an item not received claim today. If the item does eventually show up you can repay the seller.

This is a well-known technique of many sellers to cause you to miss the returns window.  Go immediately to your Purchase History, find the item, and file a claim for "Item Not Received" in order to get a refund.

As the advice above suggested, if it does eventually arrive, you can then repay the seller.
