I received the wrong item and sent the seller a message to that effect. The seller replied quickly with an apology and agreed to send a return label so that I can return the item for a full refund. Do I still need to file a SNAD even though the seller is sending me a return label?

It’s up to you. All you need is proof of delivery in order to get eBay and PayPal involved if the seller doesn’t refund. To make it easier, it’s probably a good idea to go ahead and open a return request right now. The seller can accept the return and have eBay issue a label at the same time. Assuming it’s a domestic transaction.

Well you could wait for a little bit. UNLESS THIS IS A CHINESE SELLER. Because
they cannot create pre-paid labels!

Sure they can. Anyone can.

If you filed a return request because the item was not the one you ordered I believe you have already opened a SNAD.

I didn't actually file a return request, just contacted the seller to let him know that he shipped the wrong item. But he replied that I should submit a return request. So I did that and now I'll just wait for a label. Fortunately this is a US seller so it shouldn't be a problem.
