Seller Sent item First Class Mail and lied about Weight - I had to pay for 2 lb item!!

I don't quite know where to put this but I just found this board.  Please forgive if you see this on a different board.

I justI had a very interesting thing happen to me today and not certain how to handle it.  I purchased item #284638049973 and paid just shy of $10.00 Priority Mail to have it delivered.

Today it came WITH POSTAGE DUE!  Seems the seller tried to pass it off as First Class Package at 15.3 ozs.  The packaged actually weighed 1 lb 5 oz.  for which I was charged the 2 lb prioity rate!  I would have refused it but Hubby paid and accepted it...he didn't know what was going on.

WOW!  Emailed seller earlier today and have heard nothing.  Thus I was charged for 2lbs + the almost $10.00 I originally paid him for PRIORITY SHIPPING!

How would you go about handling this.?  Thanks.

I want to say that the seller lied about the weight to the USPO and it was flagged and I was charged for the weight for a 2 lb. item (act. weight 1 lb. 5 oz)  The seller had sent it first class with a weight of 15.3 oz.

Give the seller at least 24 hours to reply to your message explaining the issue.  Was your message specific about what you wanted the seller to do, presumably a partial refund?  If you don't hear from them in a day or two, you might need to use feedback to get their attention.

Perhaps the seller accidentally inputted 15.3 in ounces instead of 1 pound 5 ounces rather than automatically assuming they had lied? Hopefully they'll respond quickly with an apology and a refund of the difference.
