Seller Refusing to contact UPS

Hey Everyone, I'm looking for some ideas on how to handle a situation with a seller that sadly has quite a few negatives. My son purchased a box of cards from a seller and the item states 'delivered'. However, the item was never delivered by UPS and my ring camera backs that up. I waited an extra day to see if maybe somehow UPS would deliver it and they have not. I asked the seller to reach out since he is the one who purchased the shipping label and he outright refuses to and even 'lol'd' my kid for asking. I filed with eBay and they said to give the seller time but I don't see the seller wanting to do a thing.

Thanks in Advance

Re: Seller Refusing to contact UPS

Shouldn't your first contact be with your local UPS? They, after all, are the ones who marked it as "delivered".

I agree, it's you that should contact UPS. Make sure the tracking number provided matches the address on your order and ask them to investigate the GPS coordinates where the package was delivered @coollkid25.

Was it a high value item?  There is also the fake tracking number scam where a cheap item is sent to another address in your zip code.  That works like a charm.  Call UPS and ask if that tracking number was to your address.   I hope you paid by credit card.

Re: Seller Refusing to contact UPS

Once an item shows delivered, you are the one that needs to be birddogging this one out. Get with UPS and verify the GPS delivery coordinates, check with neighbors, your UPS driver if you have a regular, your other family members, etc.

The seller is in the driver's seat at this, point.

Should have asked in my last response. What exactly did you file with eBay? An Item Not Received case?

Re: Seller Refusing to contact UPS

An item not received case would have been immediately disallowed because, according to the OP, there is tracking that shows delivery.

Nope, not disallowed. The option remains to file an INR even with tracking confirming delivery. But unless the OP can prove there's something going on like a fake tracking scam, then the claim will close in the seller's favor with no refund to the OP.

Re: Seller Refusing to contact UPS

I just had this happen today. There's a delivery scan but no package here. It's up to ME to go to my local post office tomorrow and investigate. There is not a thing my seller, across the country, can really do. Your seller might be rude (or maybe ignorant of how to handle things) but really, what do you expect them to do?

Re: Seller Refusing to contact UPS

you need to ask ups if the package was even addressed to you. once you get evidence that its not addressed to you, thats time to contact ebay support and tell them the seller gave a fake tracking number and the tracking wasnt even addressed to you.

You need to talk to UPS....once the item shows delivered then the seller knows that they are out of the equation.

Check if it is even your box of cards, @coollkid25. Look up your tracking number at the UPS website.

For example, if it weighs 54 pounds and measures 4 feet wide like the FedEx package above, then it cannot possibly be your box of cards! And if so, you don't even need to see the address on the label.

Yeah, because they don't have to.

If your seller is gaming the system or not you are still going to have to do the leg work by contacting UPS yourself.
