Take caution buyers, of scammers. They are all over eBay. I was sold a mask and a set of filters (by two separate sellers from the same company) that I never received. I was lied to by the first seller and fought for a refund for days. I was sold these items under the belief that they were from the US when in fact they were from CHINA. After fighting with the first seller and being lied to again and again, while waiting for the 11th when I could ask eBay to "step in", I finally decided to open a case with PayPal. On the 11th I was not able to ask eBay to step in, however on the 12th I was able to. Well, they closed the case because I'd opened a dispute through PayPal. Well, after the other seller offering a refund if I didn't receive the item in three days, I decided to close the PayPal dispute for them. The sellers name on PayPal looks the same because it's the same company written in Chinese, so I accidently closed the wrong case!! But guess what...there's more.... now I can't even file an appeal with eBay on the first item because not only did they remove the item (a day after I'd purchased it), but they have also closed the person's account!!! So I can't message the seller, I can't appeal the closing of the case, I can't do anything except sit here in anger. All I can think about is that the seller has my money and I have no item I paid for. I'd think if eBay was going to remove the item and close their account, that would automatically allow me a refund upon not receiving my item!! But no, they don't do that cause they make money off these folks. After doing research, apparently this has been an issue for years!! I've emailed eBay since I can't re-open the dispute in PayPal, and can't file an appeal. We'll see what happens.

You kind of messed up, and you want to blame Ebay. When you follow the criteria for Ebays mbg, it works great. If you paid with a credit card, try to do chargeback.

Its apparent how upsetting this ordeal is to you, rightfully so even. As I was reading your post, I was hoping I didnt read you closed out both Ebay's AND paypal's complaints, but alas! There it was.
This bit of advise probably wont help you in this case, but try to wait the amount of days Ebay sets for a particular case opened, otherwise, once its closed, it wont be reopened. I think emotions were running high for you, which in turn, caused you to become anxious, which caused you to make all kinds of wrong decisions, which caused every door for you to be closed on you with those decisions.
What do you guys think? Couldnt this buyer appeal something to get a toe back in somewhere to recoup lost money?
My main point is allowing the alotted days Ebay sets for cases opened and keep an eye on the status of a case so you wont miss time sensitive dates. Paypal and/or credit card chargebacks should be second to allowing Ebay to help resolve it.....in my opinion. Thats just my view of it. If no resolution comes from Ebay, then you have Paypal and/or your card services to fall back on....but even then it isnt always a sure thing, depends on if youre actually in the right about a dispute.
I hope you DO receive a refund, but it wont be easy seeing the way you went about it, if at all. I certainly dont mean to rub salt in the wound by saying that. Next time you have this sort of problem, come to the community before you take action so others may aid you in making a more informed decision

You can't change the past, so I'll just comment on how to get your money back. You can contact eBay via twitter or facebook if the email doesn't work. If none of that works, you can contact your credit card company for a charge back.

I'm having similar issues with three items all from China. In my case one if the items has never been marked paid by the seller so I don't even have the option of opening a case through Ebay the only options I have there are to contact the seller or pay for the item. So I contacted the seller and their response was "Hello, Sorry for my poor understanding. Wait for your reply. Best Regads." So what does that mean??? So I opened a case with PayPal and will see where that goes. The other two cases I purchased 5 items from one seller and when those didn't arrive or track I opened a case with Ebay and the seller responded they would refund my money but only for one of the items, the lease expensive of the 5 items. I tried to open a case for each item with Ebay but since they were all on one transaction and I already had a case for that item I couldnt open a another case and so again I opened a case with PayPal. I'm really fed up with the Ebay/PayPal combination with Amazon I have no issues I've had a few deals gone bad with them and their customer service department is still open and you can talk to a live person and the refund process takes a day or two at most.
