Scam address for Global Shipping?

On May 8th when the ebay shipping was down for a little while I purchased a shipping label through ShipSaver.  I chose eBay global shipping as the option because I needed to insure for $500 and USPS caps at $400.  eBay provided an address through ShipSaver to a freight forwarder in Erlanger, KY.  The package is being returned to me because of "Addressee Unknown."  I spoke to the Erlanger KY post office and they said the letter carrier told them the place was out of business.  I also spoke to a eBay shipping rep who said they don't use a forwarder in KY - only CA and Illinois- Now I have to hope this $500 package gets back to me, and I have to pay to re-ship it to France.  I really feel eBay is screwing me over.  Anyone have any advice? Maybe I am just venting but I f*$(#ing hate eBay today.

eBay International Shipping (eIS) hub is in IL and they used to use a hub in CA but haven't in years. That's the service the CS rep was talking about. That service does not apply here as it was not offered on the Neymar Jr trading card. You offered direct international shipping with USPS on the listing.

eBay International Standard Delivery (eISD), on the other hand, has hubs all over the US including Erlanger, KY. You can use eISD service when the listing offers USPS direct international shipping.

However - and this is a big however - eISD service can only be purchased through eBay, not through a third party like ShipSaver.

Which makes your situation a bit of a mystery as to what shipping service you chose through ShipSaver and where you shipped - was it the buyer that gave a wrong address?

To wrap this up without revealing any private information (the original poster can share if they want) - this issue stemmed from a setting on ShipSaver and the seller has been given advice on how to handle the transaction.
