Did you mean:

SHIPPING FEES

CAN YOU TELL ME WHY EBAY CAN TAKE 10 PERCENT OF THE SHIPPING COSTS AND CALL IT FINAL VALUE SHIPPING FEE WHEN IT DOES NOT OR NEVER DID REPRESENT ANY VALUE WHAT SO EVER TO ME?  AS A SELLER AM I SUPPOSED TO CHARGE 10 PERCENT MORE THAN WHAT THE ACTUAL SHIPPING COST IS?  WELL WHAT IS MOST LIKELY TO HAPPEN THEN IS BUYERS WILL GIVE BAD RATING FOR SHIPPING FEES THEN EBAY RESTRICTS MY SELLING ACTIVITY, THEN WHAT!!!

YOUR YELLING A PRETTY WEAK REPLY, YOU MEAN TO TELL ME WITH TODAY'S IDENTITY TECHNOLOGY EBAY COULD'NT KEEP THEM BANNED I SURE THERE'S AWAY THEY COULD TELL SUCH AS ADDRESS , SHIPPING LOCATION, NAME, BANK ACCOUNTS AND THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES ON THE ACCOUNTS I'M SURE THEY COULD FIND OUT THE LAST TIME A PERSON WENT TO THE BATHROOM IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO SO, COME ON, CERTAINLY YOU CAN REPLY SOME THING BETTER THAN THAT AND ALSO NO NEED TO YELL, THE REASON I TYPE IN CAPPS IS CAUSE BLIND IN RIGHT EYE AND CAN SEE MY TYPING BETTER

All those programs would cost money. Which would be passed on to sellers and RAISE our fees.

I have poor eyesight to I wear bifocals and medicate to control glaucoma. Instead of typing in all caps press your Ctrl key and tap your + until the font is large enough to read comfortably.

Re: SHIPPING FEES

Anything I sell these days I do so with free shipping !

ebay doesn't get 'tips' that way if the actual cost of shipping is less than you charged.

Also, as free, you automaticaly get 5 stars on your detailed rating for shipping cost--cause it was FREE.

Re: SHIPPING FEES

Hi coco9619,
would you elaborate on that a bit? I listed a painting that is going to sell for much more than I expected. Of course I want to insure it, even though I'll have to pay that cost myself. I list the shipping cost that the buyer pays as what i estimate the total weight of the item, box and stuffing to be. Do you make a guess on insurance and add it as a "handling" fee?

Re: SHIPPING FEES

To cover the cost of insurance, you can either add an estimated cost as a handling fee when you are setting up the shipping calculator for the listing, or just absorb the cost out of your final profits.  If you have buyers who shop by total cost, then it doesn't matter which approach you take -- if the total shipping and handling cost is a little lower, they'll bid a little higher.
