Noticed some sellers are charging excess shipping charges! Example I was looking at a collectable marble (1), seller is charging $9.20. Seems like its excessive to me...

One thing I think causes problems...a lot of sellers select "1 pound or less" when using 1st class. This is a bad choice! If you don't take the time to enter the actual weight in ounces...your buyer will pay the highest rate...(or not buy.)

Postal rates just went up. Ebay charges the same commission on the shipping as the actual price of the item. Sellers also pay for ink, paper, tape, boxes, etc. etc. Sellers have to recover this money or part of it. When you shop, think of the total price. I have seen ads that will say 6.99 for the item and 3.00 shipping. I have also seen 3.99 and 6.00 shipping. Both are identical but the first one seems like a better deal to some folks than the second one. Learn to shop by the TOTAL price. If you do not like the total, then go to another item.
So maybe that seller is underpricing the starting price but recovering it in the shipping. Anyway, like I said above, don't buy if you do not like the total.

This sounds accurate to me. I love when buyers try to correct me on my shipping price and tell me it can't possibly be X amount when it is, based on weight, dimensions, and zip code. People are too used to "free" Amazon shipping (not actually free, there is an annual sub). USPS rates are getting very high.

Actually I appreciated one of the first response where it showed the actual shipping cost should have been around $5.00 ish NOT $9.00 range. And I do and have avoid sellers who try to mark up the cost, either in shipping charges or including the shipping cost in the product price.
I don't expect "free" shipping as there really is no such thing anywhere. But thanks for your imput and time.
