Seller provided a shipping label, I sent the item out and now trying to mark as shipped with the tracking number provided through the shipping label I receive "The tracking number you have provided already exists in our system. Please use a valid tracking number for this return." I can not mark as shipped and ebay is telling me "don't forget to ship your item or it will be closed". What do I do?? It is already shipped and arrives Monday.

eBay already has that tracking number, so you don't have to upload it.
But --
Your return will be delivered, but the returns page will not update.
That's because eBay has simplified the returns flow, so as to clog the flow.
Please call eBay any name in the book if your seller doesn't refund in 2 business days.

What happens if you just go to the USPS or Fedx website (whichever) and put in the tracking number? If that works, I would just send that link to the seller (so they know what to expect).

The seller already has the tracking number. The OP is getting an error messsge because the tracking was uploaded automatically. Both eBay and the seller can check the status.

I have the same return issue. Used a return label provided by Ebay and sent the item off, due to be delivered to seller today. Item cannot be marked shipped in return detail because label is already in Ebay's system. I received an email stating I have until the 29th to ship the item, that I've already shipped. Will Ebay's return system recognize their return label (tracking number) once it's received by the seller today? It hasn't recognized the tracking number as being in transit. It is in the USPS system with tracking history.

Sorry, your seller doesn't have your eBay-issued tracking number yet.
eBay holds off because it doesn't know if you'll be buying your own tracking number:
1. If eBay detects you mailed the eBay-issued label, eBay announces that tracking number.
2. If Mark As Shipped your own tracking number, eBay posts it instead on the returns page.
Unfortunately --
So you're at the whim of your seller --
to voluntarily refund within 2 business days --
after USPS (as eBay won't) shows your return delivered.
But that might be too late: Your seller could call eBay first --
to complain that you didn't mail the return, and close without a refund.
So you need to call eBay right away --
since eBay has stopped tracking any returns --
as there will never be a button to Ask eBay to step in it.

@kjohnc The tracking number was automatically uploaded for you. Ebays system will automatically pick up the tracking info from the carrier & the return status will update on its own 🙂

I called Ebay and have the answer I was looking for. Ebay did show the returned item being delivered to the seller today. The information (shipped or delivered) is not showing up on the return platform that I can see. As long as Ebay has the information from their tracking number in the system, your'e OK. The representative said if the seller doesn't refund within two days to call back and they'd escalate the claim and issue me a refund.
