Returning an item, how to get return label?

I bought an item that was completely not as described. I offered to return it but the seller said I could keep it and he would send me a refund. Well, nothing happened after 2 weeks. So I opened a Return Case through ebay with the reason "item doesn't match description." I shortly got a message from Ebay saying the seller approved my return, and I should "receive a return label by Dec 1, 2017." Well, it's now December 2, and I haven't received my return label.

Question - how am I supposed to get the return label? Is it auto generated from Ebay or does the seller have to send it to me? Does that mean I don't have to pay return shipping? What if I don't get a return label, does that mean I need to pay return shipping myself?

Not sure what to do now...

thanks

Re: Returning an item, how to get return label?

Today is still Friday, December 1.

Why did you open a return case? The seller said he/she would issue a refund and that you could keep the merchandise -- no need for a prepaid return label. However, since the return was actually approved, you should have received an e-mail from either the seller or eBay with a prepaid label attached. Did you check your inbox or spam folder? The attachment is a PDF that you open and print.

While you are at it, check your Paypal account and/or credit card account to see if the seller actually issued a refund before you opened the return case.

If you do not find a refund or the e-mailed label, respond to the open case and ask eBay to send you the prepaid label.

I don't know how returns work, either.
