Got a return request yesterday on a computer with Windows 10 Pro installed.
Reason: Doesn't work or defective.
Comments: Im on dial up installed old modem, got 633 error message the modem or other connecting device is in use or not working properly. I check modem status and system states modem operating correctly uninstalled old modem purchase new modem and installed and got same result 633 error message. both modems are Us robotics model 5686E.
I offered to help him solve this issure and got no reply. Yes this modem will work with Windows 10 but COM ports and security must be setup and driver updates from Windows Update. How can I be blamed for this problem when it's the buyers Hardware problem? Besides the error message for error 633 is "Modem is in use or not configured properly" This error message has appeared since Windows XP if modem not configured right.
I contacted Ebay. Ebay said I should accept return. "Buyer remorse".

I don't know why this was posted under my other account. This will be my first return and I hate red tape and the fact that it was "Doesn't work or defective" label. I approved the return and I pay the shipping. I recieved a email from ebay about send a shipping label but I can not find a link or any indication that he has sent the Item yet. Return Detail just says "You provided return information". The buyer better not send that Item back via his own shipping and expect me to pay his shipping rate when I approved the shipping price through ebay.

it's the modem drivers, since you have installed the drivers, some are incompatible whit windows 10

I know its the drivers but it will WORK. You can not blame the Computer.

If the listing stated returns accepted you must accept them for any or no reason

I do not offer returns in my listings. I contact the buyer with tracking numbers and offers to help with problems.

If the buyer opened a (not as described) SNAD case, you're most likely going to have to accept the return (and pay return shipping). If you received a "Buyers Remorse" return and you accept returns, you must take returns for any reason. If its SNAD, you might try asking leading questions like "Does the modem work on another computer" and hope they answer that its a modem issue. Then and only then can you fight it. Don't let the case timeout. These can be fought and won, but they take a lot of time and energy, I fought one back in Nov on this id.
BTW, most buyers go silent, knowing they can get a refund in a heartbeat from eBay,

If you accepted the return and authorized eBay to provide a return label, you will be charged for the label once the buyer returns it. If the buyer uses another method to ship it back, you will not have to pay for that shipping cost, nor for the original label.

Did you use the feature to request contact info? Why not give the buyer a call to try and walk them through the process? If successful they may close the SNAD claim.
