Return item

I bought an item that was not in the condition it was marked under. Although the seller did not accept returns he agreed to take this one back due to the nature of the dispute. Now he returned the funds and claimed he paid for the return label already but I can’t find it anywhere when I asked him I was told that he has never dealt with a return before so is unsure on how to do so. Then stated I should talk with eBay and ended our conversation right then and there. Any ideas on how to move forward to get this item to the seller in time?

Re: Return item

Have you opened an INAD or item not as described case officialy  through ebay or just asked seller for a return?

Re: Return item

If the seller agreed to take it back, the seller can also provide a return shipping label for the item. Are you saying that you've already been refunded? If so, did that include your s&h cost? Because if you've received a full refund, you don't have to return the item now. Unless you feel compelled to.

Re: Return item

And, BTW, if the seller claims he does not take returns, he needs to be reminded that eBay's Money Back Guarantee states that, if a buyer opens an item not as described case, he DOES accept returns and that would include sending the buyer a prepaid return label if he wants the item back and refunding in full once the returned item is received.

ALL sellers as well as all buyers need to read the MBG.  Have you read it?

Re: Return item

The seller can issue a return label after a buyer opens a return for an item not as described. But if the seller clicks on 'refund buyer' rather than return for refund, the seller no long has the option to send an ebay label. eBay then assumes that if a refund was sent, the seller doesn't want the item back.  I don't know if you did open a return or not but since you have been refunded, I suspect that you can't go back and open one now.

If the seller does still want the item back they can print a label as a pdf  and send it you via email so you would have to give them your email address.  I don't know if it is possible to do that via ebay messages.

If a seller doesn't provide a return label

for a defective item and just issues a refund

you can throw it away (the item, not the refund).
