Hi, sold a laptop on ebay on dec, seller requested return and i accepted and provided with return shipping label same label i bought for about 22$ insured, today i asked ebay to close the case in my favor since he never updated the return request with any label, ebay did close it and about 2 hours later i receive a charge on my cc for the total amount of the laptop, called ebay and was told that he did sent the item but didn't provided label on the return request and i said ok whats the tracking number and the girl gave it to me, i just went to usps to check why it says jan 10 delivered at someplace but it sont specify the address just the zip code and city, thr lady said shw will talk with the delivery department to see what happened and asked me for my name and number and told me to file a claim at usps, i tried filling a claim and it said "we cannot open . Claim on this tracking because no inaurrance was bought for it" this smells really fishy to me, how come he disn't update the tracking on the return page but still used a tracking to send it right away, how come that tracking is not insured if i bought the label at ebay and paid the same amount i dis to send it insured i paid to get it returned, i fear he might've bought his own tracking and sent a rock to any address nearby my zip code and rip me off, any thoughta on what to do next? Should i put a stop on the credit card charge with my bank?

I have no idea, the one i bought was priority mail fully insured, i dont think he printed label from ebay because at the return request it never showed any action on his side, the agent at phone didn't tell me, she just said that seller called after they ruled on my favor, provided that fishy tracking number witch has delivered status since jan 10 and ebay inmmediately refunded him just because it says my zip code and my city, i sent a msg to buyer asking him to send me to my email address the label receipt he got, to see if it rly matches my name, address and if its really the label i bought for him.

LoL thanks to you i double checked the tracking and found out it was sent First Class Mail non insured no signature confirmation and was delivered to a boxmail(a 10 pounds 17.3 inches laptop inside a tiny letter mailbox HA), what this buyer did was that he never used the label i bought for him, he printed a label on his own, sent an envelope to an address with the same city and zip code as mine using first class mail paying less than 3$ and after i called ebay to side with me he called and provided that tracking and they sided with him because it shows delivered and shows my city and zip code, i just called ebay and they opened a money back garantee case and asked me to fill a report on ic3 or something so i did and now the waiting starts, srly that buyer has no shame.

I'm not sure wether to feel happy or mad, i got a msg this morning from ebay specialist saying that the buyer provided the tracking number that shows delivered to my city and zip code and they have to refund him because of that, but they will only this time reverse the transaction and refund me.

Out of this i assume they also refunded the buyer for shipping an item using his own shipping label he bought for first class mail uninsured instead of using the one i paid 22$, srly how can you refund a person that do that? I provided full details on the ic3 report for then to put him into jail for using an envelope service to send a 10 pounds laptop(witch he obviously didn't), the tracking he provided clearly shows first class mail(witch is an envelope and very tiny packages service weighting less than 15.9 ounces and cost 3$ or less), yes i got my money back but ebay just lost around 540$ refunding that scammer for sending a letter to some random address around my zip code LOL... i'm mad because he's gonna keep my laptop and his money and i don't understand why they refund buyers even when they use a so obvious fake tactic like this, so if i buy a 1000$ laptop today and ask for refund for INAD, seller is forced to pay label and i can just ignore that peiority mail label he bought and use my own completly different service i.e first class mail instead and send a letter to a random address around his zip code and i'm going to win the case? That's crazy.

They didn’t refund his return shipping cost. eBay doesn’t pay for return shipping and they don’t reimburse the buyer when the buyer chooses to make his own arrangements to return the item.
