Return Shipping Policy differs from product description

I bought a motherboard from a seller in South Korea, which was defective and now I want to return it, but I'm concerned about the shipping fee, as it is overseas and is pricey. In the description of the product it says the buyer is responsible for paying shipping fees, but on the actual 'Shipping, returns, and payments' tab of the product, it says that the seller pays return shipping.

So do I have to pay for return shipping or is the seller responsible for that (they also did not provide a shipping label)?

Return policy written in description is meaningless, it's the official return policy that matters (under shipping, returns & payments tab).

Defective item means you should file the return as item is defective/doesn't work. This type of return is covered under the  Money Back Guarantee (MBG) which means seller would be responsible for return shipping no matter what their official policy is.

Since it's international, seller may be unable to provide a label, in which case it's my understanding that seller needs to provide the sufficient funds to purchase a label? I'm not quite clear on that policy/procedure but that's my understanding.

If it's defective, the seller pays return shipping.

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

The seller will not be able to provide a shipping label.

They have to send you the money to pay for the return shipping.

Have a great day.

If an item is not as described, then you can ignore the seller's return policy.  If the seller wants the item back, then they have to pay for the return shipping.  You are covered by  eBay's buyer protection  policy, which they call the "Money Back Guarantee":

Seller pays for return shipping.

Always wonder why someone would buy a motherboard in South Korea instead of the country they live in.

Especially since shipping fee is pricey and one never knows if there will be a problem with the product.
