Return Shipping Label

I tried to print a return an item as part of a dispute (item not as described) but received 4 eBay emails stating label couldn’t be generated.  Each email included the seller’s mailing address but no explanation or guidance on how to resolve the issue. I had a deadline for return of the item by June 15th. The queue to reach eBay help agent was very long so I was not able to receive help or guidance on how to proceed. I resorted to sending the item back to the seller at my expense via USPS.  He received it and I received a refund later that day but only for the purchase amount. I called eBay.  One eBay agent stated I would receive the shipping costs from the seller. Another stated I had initiated the return and would not receive a refund for the shipping costs. The agent commented the seller might not have had enough funds in his account to cover postage label. The agent said they would provide a coupon in the postage amount which I could apply toward future purchase. I have not received the coupon. Does any of this sound reasonable or correct?  I’ve been a buyer for several years and have never had such a convoluted response.

@rosebudelegance

Welcome to eBay, where C/S stands for Convoluted Schooling!

I daresay the seller will send you the shipping costs, unless you've already worked out something with them. It's worth a message to them, though, as it is the right thing to do.

I've heard of the coupons/vouchers, but have not ever used one. I hear they work sometimes, sometimes not.

Good luck!
